2017 CLS Tournament concludes!

The 2017 Richland Center Church League Softball season wrapped up with some exciting games Tuesday night.

In Division One, The Mission I came back from a 7-4 deficit, plating six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on the way to an 11-7 win over Church of the Nazarene. Caleb Olson and Matt Hart tripled for the Nazarenes, who place third in the tourney, while Ross Ghastin added a double

Then, Hidden Valley Community wrapped up an undefeated season, despite trailing 11-2 early on, they rallied to edge The Mission I 14-13. Kurtus Mueller was 3 for 4 and scored the winning run on a walk-off single by Brody Tyler in the bottom of the 7th. Kory Thompson was 3 for 3.

In Division Two, Grandview Family Worship I advanced to the championship game, getting past Richland Center Fellowship 13-11. RCF takes third place.

Grandview I continued to roll, handing Park Street/West Lima their first loss of the tourney 14-9. Shaun Ruhland homered in the win. Tyler Vanderwalker had a round-tripper for Park Street/West Lima.

That necessitated a rematch to determine the Division Two champion and this time Park Street/West Lima came out on top 12-8, Dave Frank homered and Aaron Sanders tripled twice to power the offense. Matt Banker had a home run for Grandview I.

League officials want to thank all the teams for a great 2017 season and are already looking forward to 2018.
